Occupational Therapy
At BDC Occupational therapist aim at promoting independence and wellbeing by empowering and enabling people to participate in the everyday occupations of life. Our experienced occupational therapists have a holistic and person-centred focus. They can assist you and your loved ones to develop independence in the ways that matter to the participant. Our occupational therapists are equipped to support participants from the ages of six upwards with a range of diagnoses. They are specifically trained to support NDIS participants through:
- Functional Assessment
- Sensory Assessments and intervention
- Assistive Technology prescription, application work and training ( aids of equipment)
- Simple to complex Home Modification prescription and application work
- Accommodation support (support independent living and specialist disability accommodation (SDA) recommendation and report generation.
- Specific ongoing disability –related intervention and progress report for NDIS plan reviews
- Developing support or intervention plans, providing recommendations as well as providing education to the participant, their family and their care team
- Supporting skill development (cooking, cleaning and etc)

Physiotherapy
At BDC physiotherapy can be beneficial intervention for participants with a range of conditions including physical disabilities, stroke, brain injury, cerebral palsy and neurological disorders. Physiotherapy can be helpful for managing pain and improving mobility as well as supporting participation in sports and recreation activities. Physiotherapists are often part of an early intervention team to help people recover with injuries sustained from surgery, illness, ageing or disability. Our experienced Physiotherapists can help participants to become more independent and maximise functioning of joints and muscles .They use various techniques and treatment that can include:
- Assessing posture, muscle tone, mobility and strength
- Exercise programs
- Joint manipulation and massage
- The use of special equipment to enhance mobility and coordination
- Hydrotherapy (exercise in pool)
- Showing others how they can assist

Speech Pathology
At BDC speech pathologist conduct assessment, evaluation and treatment of participants with speech and language impairments. They also evaluate and treat swallowing problems, impaired cognition, and hearing problems. For participant who are unable to communicate through speech, speech pathologist teach participants alternative methods of communication, like using pictures or symbols hand gestures ,sign language or talking computers to let others know what they want or need.
Our experienced speech pathologist focuses on our participant’s verbal and written expressions, auditory processing skills auditory and reading comprehension levels, attention spans, memories and problem solving and organization skills.
Our speech pathologists also specializes on oral and pharyngeal swallowing disorders and in swallowing rehabilitation.
